The fire in the Himalayan forest above Sikpaswar of Gaurishankar Rural Municipality-7 under Gaurishankar conservation area has been brought under control. The fire that started on January 15th was brought under control after 9 days.

The forest of Nigalo, which is the area where Redpanda goes, has been completely burnt by the fire. After the fire went out of control, a team of 70 people was mobilized to control it. The team deployed since Wednesday brought the fire under control on Thursday. 

Tulsi Prasad Dahal, head of the conservation sector, said that the protection sector sub-committee and the local team along with the Nepalese army, the district administration, the armed police, have been deployed to control the fire. According to him, teams were deployed from four districts to control the fire. "Yesterday and today, we have brought the fire under control in two days," he said, "we are studying the condition of wild animals."

With the control of the forest fire in the Gourishankar conservation area, the Rolwaling snow range and villages in the north have been opened up with the Gaurishankar Himal surrounded by smoke. He said that the fire in Sindhupalchok started from the transmission line of hydropower and in Dolakha due to human carelessness. He said that they are looking for the person who started the fire. He said that people who burn logs in the forest and forget to extinguish the fire cause damage to the forest.
