Community honor 2081 has been awarded to Vikram Karki, the only Everest climber of Makwanpur district and Malti Upreti, principal of Amar Mavi Hetounda-1.
During the conclusion of the 15th anniversary of Radio Makwanpur, Karki of Baaiya-4 and Preeti of Hetaunda-1 were awarded with Rs. 10,000 cash and certificates. Karki has successfully climbed 30 mountains of Nepal including Everest. He is the only Mt Everest climber from Makwanpur. Radio honored Upreti, who was established as the best female principal by improving the educational level of Amar Mavi.
Chief Minister of Wagmati Province Bahadur Singh Lama, Member of Wagmati Province Assembly Lakshmidevi Shrestha, Chairman of Radio Makwanpur Board of Directors Anandram Parajuli and others presented them with cash, certificate and dosalla. Mount Everest climber Karki said he was happy to be honored in his own district.
Climbing a mountain is a challenging task in itself. I have climbed 30 mountains including Mount Everest for my own hobby', he said, 'I have also lost a close friend who went with me on the journey to climb Mount Everest. I am happy to be the first Mt Everest climber from Makwanpur.'
Upreti, the principal of Amar Mavi, another honored teacher, gave a happy response that she was considered worthy of the honor. I have been in the teaching profession for the past 3 decades. I have been working as the headmaster of Amar Mavi in Hetaunda for a few years. I am doing my best to improve the educational quality of the school," she said.
