A woman died in a fire at a furniture and wood factory in Kavre. At 9 o'clock on Friday night, an electrical short broke out in Shyamsunder Furniture and Wood Industry located in Dhulikhel Municipality-9 Kavrebhanjang of Kavrepalanchok.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Meen Bahadur Ghale informed that 70-year-old Tika Devi Dangal, a resident of Shankharapur-1 Nanglebhare, Kathmandu, who worked in an industry, was burnt to death in the fire.

According to him, 73-year-old Toyanath Dangal, Dangal's husband, was injured in the fire. He is being treated at Dhulikhel Hospital. Along with the industry, Dhru Bahadur Vic's one-storied mud house and one-storied roof covered with zinc were also damaged by the fire. 

The police said that the fire caused a loss worth 90 lakh rupees.
