Makwanpur police said that both the short distance roads connecting Makwanpur-Kathmandu have been re-opened. Thankot-Chitlang (Ganeshman road) and Matatirth road, which were closed for some time due to road upgrading, have been fully operational since Tuesday, Makwanpur police said.
Panighat to Chandragiri Bhanjyang section of the road for Thankot-Chitlang road upgrading last December It was closed from the 7th. However, the road was opened only for morning and evening after a few days after protesting from the citizens saying that the problem of the local residents was ignored and the road was closed without an alternative. Shyamu Aryal, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Makwanpur informed that this road is now fully operational.
Matatirtha road connecting Makwanpur-Kathmandu has also been fully operational . Deputy Superintendent of Police Aryal said that the road has been closed since 22nd of January due to Bhir Katan near Mahalakshmi Khola located in Indrasarovar Rural Municipality-5 of Makwanpur under Mahalakshmi Khola-Matatirth road.
Kulekhani-Fakhel road section connecting Makwanpur-Kathmandu and Kulekhani-Sisneri-Dakshinkali road section is operating in one direction only. Vehicles from Hetaunda to Kathmandu are operating from Cisneri and vehicles coming from Katmathau to Hetounda are operating from Fakhel. Both the road sections are currently being upgraded.
