The Bagmati state government has formed a core ceremony committee to celebrate Martyrs' Day. On Monday, Bagmati Province Internal Affairs and Law Minister Surajchandra Lamichhane chaired the all-party meeting held in the ministry to celebrate Martyrs' Day.
Lamichhane, who is also the law minister and government spokesperson, informed that the meeting decided to celebrate this year's Martyrs' Day by organizing various programs on January 14, 15 and 16.
Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law Purna Bahadur Darji informed that a 74-member original ceremony committee was formed under the coordination of Minister Lamichhane.
On January 14th, it has been decided to clean public places, schools, local markets and various ministries and city areas in Hetaunda and hoist the national flag. Secretary Darzi said that the meeting also decided to organize health camps in 13 districts of the province on January 15, and to organize an essay competition on the contribution of martyrs in all the schools of the district.
Today's all-party meeting has decided to organize a program to pay homage to the statues of martyrs with dawn procession at Hetounda sub-metropolis-11 Martyrs' Memorial on the occasion of Martyrs' Day on January 16.
