The Lamosanghu-Jiri road section, which was blocked by the protesting locals after the death of a local youth in an accident on Friday afternoon, has been operational since Saturday.

According to the District Police Office, 37-year-old Dawachhiring Tamang of Lisankhupakhar Rural Municipality-7 Dandapakhar died on the spot when a cargo truck numbered Madhesh Pradesh 03-02 B 0534 hit a motorcycle in Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-7 Eight Kilo on that road section.

The angry locals and the relatives of the deceased kept the body on the road and blocked the area at Khadichour of Arani Highway for a long time on Saturday . On Saturday afternoon, the family of the deceased, the side of the cargo truck, public representatives and security personnel sat and discussed. Police Inspector Sumesh Pandey of District Police Barhbise said that the barrier was opened after the compensation was agreed upon.

"The road that was blocked on Friday has been resumed from Saturday, an agreement has been reached between both parties," Prani Pandey said. Lisankhu Dolakha and Ramechhap were stranded between vehicles and passengers when the road was blocked.

When a cargo truck going from Dolakha to Kathmandu hit a motorcycle number Ba02-033 of Tamang coming from the opposite direction, it suddenly caught fire and he was burnt to death. After that incident, when the truck hit the scooter number BA 02-48 P 7539, the driver Ramechhap Sunapati Rural Municipality-6, 40-year-old Amber Tamang and 44-year-old Ratnalal Moktan of Hetaunda Sub-Metropolitan City-16 were injured.
