A man from Chitwan who was accused of raping his daughter has been arrested by the police from Dhading. As the identity of the 14-year-old girl victim cannot be revealed, the police have not released the details of the arrested person.
Chitwan Police arrested the person from Dhading Nilakantha Municipality-3 on Sunday. He is accused of raping his own daughter and causing her to fall after she was pregnant.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gyan Kumar Mahato, who is the spokesperson of Chitwan District Police Office, said that the man raped her in October last year. Then, on December 20 of last year, DSP Mahato, on behalf of the Chitwan District Police Office, took her to the hospital and performed an abortion, according to a press release issued on Tuesday. The Chitwan District Court has given a deadline of five days to investigate that person.
After taking that person into custody and extending the deadline from the court, the area police office of Chitwan Ratnagar is investigating. In the statement issued by the district police, it is also mentioned that 28 more people who were absconding without being arrested despite being sentenced to imprisonment and fine by the Chitwan court were arrested on Tuesday. DSP Mahato said that all such 28 people are being brought to court.
