'Climate Day-2081' has been celebrated at Gufadanda, a tourist spot located in Melamchi Municipality-9 of Sindhupalchok at an altitude of 2,520 meters.
With the support of Melamchi Municipality, the Climate Day was held on Wednesday in Gufadanda with discussions between the Chief Minister of Wagmati Province Bahadursin Lama Tamang, two ministers of Wagmati Province, people's representatives and people concerned about climate.
On December 15, 2007, the first climate conference was held in Gufadanda in the presence of representatives of the coordinating committee of 77 districts, some people's representatives and employees from all over the country. Looking at the statue of a man and 77 flags from the symbolic seta building the earth built at that time, Chief Minister of Wagmati Province, Deputy Minister of Forest and Environment of Wagmati Province Krishna Prasad Silwal, Minister of Internal Affairs and Law Surajchandra Lamichhane, Minister of Pre-Law Sher Bahadur Tamang raised their voices about the impact of climate .
Climatologist Dr. Gangadat Nepal, who is also the vice-chairman of Policy and Planning Commission of Wagmati Province, suggested the effects of climate on the entire district and the work to be done to study it. He also emphasized that Gufadanda should be made a national research center.
Aitman Tamang, head of Melamchi city, said that since the Climate Day, which was organized by Jesus earlier, was held in his area this time, it was continued in the city's budget. "The day is celebrated to raise voice about tourism promotion and climate, important issues about climate have been raised here, we will work on it by raising voice at the upper and lower levels," he said .
