A 15-day Chitwan festival will be held on the banks of the Narayani river from January 25th to January 10th. With the aim of increasing economic activity, the Chitwan Industry and Commerce Association has been organizing the festival every two years since 2053. This is the 15th Chitwan Festival.

Suman Kumar Shrestha, the chairman of the Chitwan Industry and Commerce Association, said that there will be 430 stalls in the festival premises.  A construction expo will also be held within the

festival premises in collaboration with construction material dealers. Exhibitors will also come from China, Bangladesh and Pakistan. President Shrestha informed the press conference held on Thursday that the Chinese have registered 20 stalls.  As part of the

festival, there will also be a food festival for the promotion of traditional food from 29th January to 4th January at Narayangadh Campachour. President Shrestha said that although the

festival has been organized for 10 days, due to the experience and the desire of the audience, this time the time has been extended to five days. The festival entry fee is Rs. During this period, five lakh spectators will watch the festival and the organizers claim that there will be a financial transaction worth 30 million rupees.

There is economic recession all over the country. Only 40 percent of industries are operating. The situation is disappointing. It is hoped that such fairs and festivals will give impetus to social and economic activities," said Chairman Shrestha.
