One dead, five injured in Chitwan attack by rhinoceros

On Tuesday, one person was killed in Chitwan Ratnanagar municipality due to a rhinoceros attack. Five people were injured.

According to the information received from the Chitwan District Police Office, 70-year-old Krishna Kumari Thapa of Ratnanagar-16 has been identified as the deceased. DSP Bhesraj Rizal, spokesperson of Chitwan District Police Office, said that she was seriously injured after the attack and died in the government hospital in Bharatpur during treatment.  

Similarly, 78-year-old Dambar Bahadur Thapa of Ratnagar-16, 60-year-old Mina Gurung of Ratnagar-14 and 72-year-old Chetanath Chaulagai of Ratnagar-12, 39-year-old Sita Pokharel and Pujan Vick were injured. Their condition is moderate.

Pokharel's CMC teaching hospital and others are being treated at Bharatpur's government hospital. Thir Bahadur Karki, Divisional Chief of Chitwan Bharatpur Division Forest Office, said that a rhinoceros came out of the forest and attacked the locals. He said that the rhino has been sent to the park area.
