Vice Chairman of Policy and Planning Commission of Wagmati Province, Gangadat Nepal, has said that to rebuild the disaster-affected areas, the union, state and local levels should come up with a plan.
In the interaction on 'Roshi Khola Watershed Protection and Disaster Mitigation Measures' held on Saturday in conjunction with Kavre's Panauti Municipality project and Kavre Service Society, Vice President Nepal made a plan in coordination with organizations including local level, state, federal government and private sector to rebuild development projects in disaster-affected areas and protect structures. He emphasized that it is necessary to do.
Provincial Policy and Planning Commission has studied the affected areas after the disaster and prepared a post-disaster need assessment, he said. According to him, a study is being done to advance the reconstruction work and the work which has been drafted and the suggestions received have been studied and completed.
He expressed the commitment that the Wagmati Provincial Commission will cover the plans of all municipalities of the province on priority basis. In the
program, Head of the District Coordination Committee, Deepak Kumar Gautam, said that the haphazardly operated mines should be operated in an orderly manner to reduce the disaster. Stating that 'water and mines' are the main factors in the disaster, he said, 'It is necessary to protect the Roshi river from Phulchoki to Nepalthok, and to solve the risk of landslides and floods caused by unorganized and illegal mines,'
Roshi, Lilavati, Punyamata Rivers coming from Bethanchok, Namobuddha and Roshi are necessary to protect the watershed due to the fluctuations in climate. Ramsharan Bhandari, head of Panauti Municipality, said that it is very necessary to study the rivers coming from the rural municipality and make a plan for their protection. For that, he said that since the municipalities lack resources, the cooperation of the organizations that are partners in the development plan is necessary. In the
program, Purushottam Nepal of Kavre Sewa Samaj pointed out that there is a need for a coordinated role in disaster management between the local levels of the Roshi watershed area. In the
