The Wagmati state government will immediately allocate 10 million rupees from the budget of the current financial year for the under-construction Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium in Bharatpur.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Thursday evening has decided to provide this amount as a subsidy to Bharatpur Metropolitan Municipality.

According to the proposal submitted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the meeting of the Council of Ministers, the amount is going to be provided as the third installment of the budget for the current financial year.

Earlier, the government released Rs 1 crore 80 lakh to Bharatpur Mahanagara for the stadium on June 24 as the second installment. The state government had provided Rs 5 crore as the first installment to the Bharatpur Metropolitan Municipality in the last financial year.

In the first phase, the state government had agreed to work with the metropolis to the tune of 75 million rupees. However, according to the plan prepared by the Bharatpur Metropolitan Municipality, it is estimated that one billion rupees will be spent to make it possible to play national level games.
