Shanti Lama of Nuwakot district has been appointed as the chief executive director of Provincial Technical and Vocational Education and Training Council (CTEVT) by the Wagmati state government. The cabinet meeting held on Thursday evening appointed Lama as the executive director.

According to the spokesperson of the government and Minister of Internal Affairs and Law, Surajchandra Lamichhane, the Ministry of Social Development selected the Chief Executive Director through an open competition.

The Chief Executive Director Selection and Recommendation Committee under the coordination of Ministry Secretary Badrinath Gayre selected and recommended three candidates for appointment in the meeting of the Council of Ministers. The ministry called for applications and completed the examination and interview.

The recommendation committee named Badri Prasad Dahal of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-9 as number one, Shanti Lama of Mygang-4 Nuwakot as second and Ishwar Chandra Poudyal of Bharatpur-10 Chitwan as third. Dahal and Lama are close to the Nepali Congress and Paudyal is close to the Maoist center  .
