Inaugurating the green hydrogen production and refueling station, Prime Minister Oli said that the green hydrogen production and refueling station operated by the university is a very exemplary work.

He said that this type of work should be conducted not only in Kathmandu University but also in the workplace. 'When he was the Prime Minister in 2018/19, he imagined and studied green hydrogen, generating electricity from the air, etc.,' said Prime Minister Oli, 'I What was said at that time, today Kathmandu University for the first time in the history of Nepal  It has started, it has been a very good start, together with Kathmandu University, now others should also move forward to do this kind of work.' After the inauguration, he observed the green hydrogen production and refueling station operated by the university's Green Hydrogen Lab.

Kathmandu University's green hydrogen production and refueling station has been successfully tested and refueling in hydrogen cars has started. Bhola Thapa said. According to him, this work has been started for the first time in Nepal.

Hydrogen fuel Electricity and water produced in Nepal are processed and converted into hydrogen at the hydrogen refueling station, informed Virajsingh Thapa, Head of Nepal Hydrogen Initiatives under the University and Associate Professor. He said that energy such as hydropower, solar etc. is available in Nepal and hydrogen refueling stations and hydrogen cars have been prepared by using and processing it.

According to him, it is seen that its business will increase in the future. Our main objective is to reduce the excessive consumption of fuel in Nepal. He said that its use can be expanded not only in the field of transportation but also in industry and factories.

Pilot projects of hydrogen production can be built in cities like Pokhara, Hetaunda and Bharatpur along with Kathmandu Valley, said Thapa.
