Stating that about 75 percent of law students in the National Law Campus are women and 25 percent of men, he says, "As the number of women studying law has increased, there is no participation in the advocacy field". Timilsina said that although there has been a small number of changes compared to before, the participation of women advocates is very low compared to men.' Women still have to follow the concept of society. Clients also think or believe that men are more competent than women and because there is no fixed time, women are less in the advocacy field, he said.
Women study law and increase their involvement in other fields, but they say that it will play a positive role in social change.
'Both women and men may have different views on society . As women's attractiveness increases, the hidden voice not only in the media and social networks but also in the real voice and policy helps bring about change . Women's participation provides a positive message to the society . Therefore, increasing the number of women in legal matters will help the society to move forward in a positive manner," he said.
Women are not seen less in terms of competition . Rozina Archaya Chhetri became the best in the 32nd advocate level exam. Among the top 10 results, 7 were women . According to Chhetri, although women are capable in every profession in the society, there is an exception in the legal profession as well. Although times have changed, the idea that women cannot handle big issues is still in the minds of many people, she says, and women are not involved in the advocacy field as expected. Rozina says, "Being a woman, even if you are more capable than a man, you have to put more effort in everything to make sure you are capable." Even though women are competent in the field of advocacy, women are less visible in the advocacy field due to the belief that women cannot see critical cases except for divorce, divorce and other common cases. If
is able to work, she said that women can do well in the field of law because they have better opportunities and access compared to before. "Today's women don't want to keep their dreams to a minimum, and access is better than before." It is true that it is difficult, that we have to struggle, but if we always think like this, there are less women in the advocacy field . If women come forward with the idea that they can do it with courage and ability, the involvement of women in the advocacy field will increase . This thing will also inspire the next generation," she said.
"Women are forced to flee from advocacy because of family structure, social thinking that women should take care of the house, child-rearing work, home, family and their profession. I have never felt bad from people connected to my profession, but my heart has been hurt many times by the behavior of 'clients' because they are women' - Senior Advocate Savita Bhandari
Women who have been embracing the profession of advocacy for a long time are not less in terms of ability . It seems that they played a big role in social change . According to senior advocate Savita Bhandari, in terms of quality and quantity, women are better now in the field of advocacy. However, he said that it is difficult for women in the profession of advocacy compared to men. She says, "There are examples of many women not being established in the advocacy profession." Family structure, the idea that a woman should take care of the house, women are forced to leave the profession and take care of the house because they cannot balance the home, family and their profession while having children. "The place where I feel most comfortable is the court and the legal profession." Judges, advocates, that is, my profession, have never treated me badly, but my heart has been hurt many times by the behavior of 'clients' because they are women, as if women are weaker than male lawyers,' she said .
The society has not yet changed as desired, but she told her experience that she is happy to see the increase in the participation of women in the advocacy field, even if it is a little less than before. In addition, he said that if men and women are treated equally with the support of the family, women can advance in the competition in every field.
The participation of women who are not involved in the advocacy field but who are becoming competent in the government sector after studying law has also been seen to be good . Experts say that it is positive for the society in terms of ability, even if women study the subject of law and choose a profession according to their wishes.
Vinu Gautam, who is a branch officer in the Supreme Court, says that the participation of women in judicial services and government lawyers has increased. She says, "compared to the private sector, the government sector is a bit safer for women and the scheduled time is from 10 to 4, so the participation of women is increasing . Vinu also says that she feels that men and women are seen and behaved differently in the government sector.
It seems that men and women in the same post are given more priority than women on different occasions or programs. It is also believed that women should naturally give birth to children and take care of their home and family. But in terms of ability, women are just as capable and capable as men," she said. But he said that he knows a lot about the law even if he is engaged in any work other than the legal profession.
The number of both women and men embracing the teaching profession along with advocacy is high. Advocate Anita Koirala says that the interest of women in the subject of law is increasing every year while she is teaching and even though the subject of law teaches law and equality, there is no equality in the profession. She says, "There is an environment that makes it look like women are given more opportunities, but discourages them from moving forward." Women who are still not able to openly come to the advocacy field . Women's participation in the advocacy profession will not increase unless women-friendly policies and society's thinking change in practice. He says that after being treated like this, the self-confidence of female advocates will be weakened. According to advocate Bhavesh Gautam, patriarchal thinking is still present in the society, which is why there is less in the field of women's advocacy. He says, "Just as the society has the technology to trust men even if they are incompetent in every issue in the legal field, women are not easily trusted even if they are competent". Although this inequality has gradually disappeared, it has not disappeared completely.' According to him, if such a thing is removed from the society, the participation of women in the advocacy profession will increase.
