The road and forest office has been heavily criticized for not paying the attention of the relevant agencies even though the trees are being felled by the wind during the drought. There are many incidents of small trees falling on the highway during the rains. It is not found that the traffic police keep the data of such incidents after sending the vehicle away immediately. Nepal Police Highway Safety and Traffic Management Office Pathaliya Bara has informed that the highway was blocked only 3 times in the month of July. According to the

office, on June 18, traffic was stopped for a while after a tree fell on the Pathlaiya-Nijgarh section. On 2nd of July, after the tree fell near Chandi Bridge and the traffic was stopped, the security personnel cut it off. On the 10th of July, a tree fell on the Chandranigahpur-Bagamati section and traffic was blocked for about one and a half hours. DSP Vakil Singh, the spokesperson of Pathalaiya Traffic Office, said that the fallen trees on both sides of the highway can cause problems. "We want to get the attention of the relevant authorities," he said.    

2079 On the 27th of Baisakh, a bikki Thapa of Chandrapur-4 who was coming from Hetaunda on a motorcycle to Chandranigahpur, hit his hand when a tree suddenly fell on the Nijgarh-Pathalaiya section. The danger to the vehicle is the same when the branch breaks during the windy season . Branches of trees on the side of the highway can be seen falling down. There is a possibility that such branches may break and fall on the vehicle in a windy storm. If it falls on the vehicle, it can kill people . Now in many places, tree branches can be seen falling down on the side of the road.

Arun Kumar Lal Karna, head of Road Division Office, Chandranigahpur, said that the process of cutting the trees blocking the highway has been started with the approval of the forest. "We have been cutting and managing the trees that are about to fall and are causing danger by taking an order from the forest," he said. Soon after the tender of the four-lane road, the time to travel in fear will end.'  

The Mahendra Highway has made an incomparable contribution to bind the Nepalis from the east to the west in a single formula. With the development of this highway, the country has made an incomparable development in trade and commerce. Lately, the branches of the trees on the side of the highway have grown and fallen down. The concerned body has not been able to manage it .

This highway was inaugurated by the then King Mahendra in the year of Vikram Samvat 2022. More than 10,000 vehicles run daily on the longest highway in Nepal, connecting Nepal from Kakdavitta (Mechi Nagar) to West Mahendranagar, which is more than eleven hundred kilometers long. Transportation professionals say that travel on the national highway connecting the capital should be safe. Lalbabu Giri, President of Rautahat Bus Business Association, says that the branches of the trees on the side of the national highway should be cut and removed. Drivers are driving in unison.
