Dharan's main market, Niketan Galli eastward from Bhanuchok is famous as Sukuti Line. There are many shops selling sukuti here. Where sukuti chang is kept for sale every day. Dharan's sukuti is not limited here, it reaches across the sea to Hong Kong and Britain.

The story of Dharan's sukuti is not just a local flavor story. It is also a tradition and a culture. Known as the city of Lahore, most of the residents of Dharan also live in Hong Kong and the UK. Dharane's delicious sukuti is now reaching those countries online. "Britain, Hong Kong, India and other countries also have connoisseurs of Dharan's sukuti", says a local businessman.

In recent times, home-based sukuti business has flourished with the use of social media. Local businessmen say that the number of people selling sukuti online is increasing. Binita Rai of Dharan sub-metropolis used to sell sukuti by keeping a shop. Now she has changed her style and does sukuti 'home delivery' online. "I also sell sukuti and different types of meat pickles online," she says. I have been sending sukuti and pickles together with my sister who is there.' She said that according to the demand there, she sends them by courier from Dharan. "If you send a lot at once, it will be a little cheaper." I have sent at least 20/30 kg at a time,' she said. Along with sukuti, she also makes pickles of different flavors of meat. It is a little harder to make meat pickles than sukuti. I can't do it alone, my two sisters help me in making, tagging, and packing," she said, "it's a bit easier because three people work. It's hard to feed alone, you can't keep employees by paying them.'

She buys 80 to 100 kg of raga meat and makes sukuti at her own home. She said that it takes different time depending on the weather and season to dry the meat. Binita said that it takes at least 4-5 days to make sukuti and weeks in winter because the sun shines in the summer season. Nowadays, almost everyone makes it by lighting a fire and drying it in smoke, so something is done faster . Sukuti is ready in 2/3 days in the fire or smoke, but now it is difficult and expensive to get firewood. In the summer months, I dry it in the sun because it gets hot,' she says. She has bought meat from Tuesday Chowk located in Dharan-11. According to him, he is earning Rs 60,000 to Rs 80,000 per month from his home business. She said that the income will continue to decrease according to the demand and hard work.

Muna Rai, another businessman of Sukuti Line, is also making a living from this business . The sukuti made by him is mostly exported to UK and Hong Kong. A meat connoisseur who came to visit said that they used to take sukuti of Dharan as koseli . She said that about 4 kg of raga meat makes 1 kg of sukuti. She said that 1 kg of sukuti is sold at 1600. Muna says that she makes and sells up to 100 kg of meat sukuti in her own home. Along with that, she has made and sold pork, chicken, raga meat and Akbare chilli pickles. The price of raga meat pickle is over 2 thousand per kg. She said that pickles that last a little longer are sold for up to 2400 per kg, chicken pickles for 2000 rupees, pork for 2400 rupees.

She told that relatives in UK and Hong Kong send sukuti and pickles through courier as ordered. Their experience is that the business of Dharane Sukuti has been slowing down after the corona period. "Earlier, there were many shops selling sukuti in this street, now they are decreasing. Nowadays, many people are selling sukuti and pickled meat from other places online, so it is difficult for the shop owner. However, sales are still being done online, sitting at home,' said Muna. She said that daily business is around 10,000 rupees. As domestic customers are also getting used to ordering online, the traffic on the Sukuti line is decreasing .

The business of sukuti in Niketan Galli has been turned towards 'digital' due to the corona epidemic and the increased online business since then.
