Sometimes disasters do not lead to emergencies. It also brings opportunities. Last year, floods and landslides damaged the BP highway. After that, the pressure of vehicles passing through BP highway increased on Madan Bhandari highway. In this Meso, I got information that a non-governmental organization has organized a grocery store and a training course on making chatpaty. After participating in that training for a month, I started a chat shop at Kapilakot Chowk with an investment of 50,000 rupees. Then my busyness increased. The passengers of the vehicle who stopped to eat at Kapilakot Chowk became my customers.
Oiro began to rush to my shop to taste the sour taste of those who did not eat at the hotel. In the beginning, I could not deliver the goods. I used to sell briskly throughout the day . With that money, I used to buy bhuja, gram, lemon, onion and other ingredients on loan.
It took a year to run the shop like this. I am excited as the business is growing . The capital of the business started with a small investment has now reached 4/5 lakh. I have a daughter . I have enrolled my daughter in a nearby school. Mother-in-law also lives with me . I live in Marin rural municipality-6 of
district. Now I am 25 years old. I have sent my husband to Mauritius for foreign employment one and a half years ago after taking a loan after having problems to pay the household expenses.
Before, it was okay to bring food with the money sent by my husband from the Gulf countries. It was not enough to pay the debt . The money sent by my husband was enough to run the house. After that, I decided to start a small business myself and opened a small shop .
I wasn't sure when I started the business . Even a small investment was too much for me. He was worried that he would drown somewhere. Nevertheless, I dared to think that whatever would happen. I am surprised to see the earnings now. Training made it easy for me . It became easy to adjust the quantity of various foods and spices in the sauce. To break the story, there are people who do business after learning from the village. But I can make it as fast as I can because I have trained and started working. There is no shortage of customers. Even those who hesitated when starting the business have now become my clients . Even though it is a small investment, you don't have to sit empty-handed . Since it is a business, household expenses have been running smoothly. On the other hand, the money sent by the husband has started saving. I have also paid off the debt I incurred while going abroad.
The income from this business has been used to educate my daughter, treat my mother-in-law's medicine and enjoy eating and drinking. I have been adding goods to the shop from the amount I have earned . So no cash savings . First, I used to borrow goods from others. Now I have given food and groceries to others. Earlier, moneylenders were very reluctant to lend goods. Now, seeing that the business has increased, they come to the store to drop off the goods . Profits are also good in fast business.
It is my experience that there is up to 50 percent profit in chatpatte business . 2 to 3 thousand are being sold daily. I'm more impressed with the business than the grocery store. After my husband who is abroad returns, I am thinking of doing this business .
