Our ancestral residence is in Jagarnathpur rural municipality-4. No matter how much you suffered in the village, you could just make a living. So two years ago we migrated to Birganj with the whole family dreaming of a bright future. Now we have rented 2 rooms in Birganj-11, 2 daughters, 1 son and 5 people living together.

I am now 38 years old. I got married at the age of 18. The eldest daughter is married. Miley's daughter is studying at her relative's house in Hetaunda. Sayli doesn't go to school . The youngest daughter studies in 4th grade in a public school .

A son turned 16 years old . Being a diabetic, he gets into trouble from time to time . However, a motorcycle in Birgunj is working in a garage. Cannot work regularly. One week he goes to the garage to work and the next week he is sick and stays at home . My husband is a company driver. As his earnings are not sufficient, I also work in the chappal industry of Birgunj. Husband and wife work and earn 30,000 per month . However, it is not known where that amount will be billed . There will be a need for money before the end of the month.

The monthly rent of two rooms is 4 thousand 500 . In a month, 40 kg of the same 4,000 rice is needed. 840 rupees are spent on 5 kilos of pulses per month . A cylinder of gas requires 2 thousand per month . Vegetables, oil, spices, green vegetables cost 5/6 thousand per month . We eat chicken 1 to 2 times a month . In

village, there is one and a half plot of land on the bank of Bhaluwahi river and a two-room house in it. Before the corona epidemic, I took a loan of 250,000 from the bank to build a house there. Of that, I have been able to pay only 50,000 rupees so far.

When my eldest daughter got married, I took a loan of 60,000 rupees from three small finance banks and 1/1 lakh rupees from the remaining two. Out of the 260,000 loan, I have paid only 50,000 rupees so far. I took a loan of 60,000 rupees by performing tamasuk in

village. Of that, only 20,000 has been paid. Those moneylenders have filed a case against me in the district court. I had taken 1 lakh sapti from a woman in the village . She has made a document saying that she has taken a loan of 3 lakhs . Sahuni has not returned the paper even after paying the 1 lakh taken in the beginning .

is heavy on debt on the one hand . On the other hand, they have to work day and night to earn a living. Sometimes if you need a little more money, you are not happy without taking a loan. This is how the old age of the poor will be. After coming to the headquarters to educate the children and make them big people, the dream became a dream after being weighed down by the weight of debt.

It doesn't seem like the day will come to live happily ever after. The responsibility of 4 more children is on the shoulders. The responsibility of bringing them up, raising them and marrying them has yet to be fulfilled. To fulfill the responsibility, you may have to increase the loan. I imagine the day when all the debts are paid off. When will the truly debt free day come?
