He has been living in Musahar Basti in Mahagadhimai Municipality-2, Inerwa for generations. We are a family of 6 living in a thatched hut. I am the youngest of four brothers. Now I am 35 years old.

Everyone has a different stove . In the 6 dhur ghaderi that our ancestors had built, the four brothers have built four bamboo huts and are sitting. The condition of all 40 families in our settlement is the same. Absence and poverty.

My wife, 2 sons and 2 daughters and I are at home . "Pusta Se Petwe-Lotwe Chalatba ". Kamayke akhay ke ba .' Earned all day long, it is difficult to eat a full stomach in the evening and morning . Life has to be spent looking at plates and bowls of water. Family is not a matter of money in our community. All day we work in agriculture and earn wages. I feel fed up because the salary is not enough to eat two meals. The only goal of the Mushar caste is to fill their stomachs . Earned money doesn't stay stale, I spend it the day I earn it.

I earn 10/12 maunds of rice and 5/6 maunds of wheat a year by working for wages in the fields. Apart from farming, I work in a brick kiln . 20,000-25,000 earned by working in the kiln for two months will cover the house expenses . Apart from that, whenever there is an opportunity in the village society, it should be sought and pursued. 20-25,000 loans are taken annually for illness, weddings, festivals and Shraddha. To repay the loan taken for such works, one must work for years. It has been a long time since I dreamed of putting up a brick wall in the prison by saving two/four money. But, never complete . Buying new clothes is difficult. We slaughter our own pigs and chickens for meat once a year. In the village, we eat pits, pani and garhi, pothe and dedhi fish in the fields.

The farmer drinks homemade wine and dry water on the day he goes to work.  We eat potato vegetables and rice throughout the year . Green vegetables are to be seen, not eaten. Ghiraunla, tomato, gourd are 5/10 rupees per kilo and we buy them and eat them. Malnutrition occurs in pregnant women and children without nutritious food . Along with legumes, milk-yogurt, eggs cannot be eaten.

I send my children to government schools now. The school does not charge fees. After learning Kakkari on the slate, they need to spend money on buying pen and paper. Then their education will be broken.  There is no tradition of going to private hospitals and private schools for education in the Musahar caste. The cooking gas and stove provided by the municipality were used once. Later, when we didn't have money, we stayed at home . Money has not been raised to fill gas again. Throughout the year, we cut firewood and keep it on the roof . In the dry season, the wood does not burn in the stove after it gets wet. At that time we spend the night eating chiura and dalmoth.

Everywhere we hear the news that the government has built government housing for Dalits and the poor. However, we do not know when the government will come to our settlement. It is difficult for Khan to buy a kilo of rice, from where to fill the gas ? After the water was very heavy, four brothers together buried a chapakal in front of the wall. Now that too is dry . Not greasy . So we go to open defecation in Mirmire . At that time, I feel fear of gnats.

Leaders also come to Musahar Basti only when voting. At that time, they assure that they will meet the demand for bread, clothes and houses. After the election, the assurance also disappears . There is no bed to sleep in the camp. There is no vinegar to wear in winter. When it is cold, we put on clothes and clothes . I sew old clothes myself and make 'gudri' and run the business. In the summer, no matter where you lie, the night will be cut.
