18 students were absent from the English subject examination in Ramechhap on the first day of the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) that began on Thursday.

According to Netra Prasad Gajurel, head of the Education Development and Coordination Unit, Ramechhap, 17 students, including 5 boys and 12 girls, did not appear for the examination in the general category, while 1 examinee was absent in the grade increase category.

In the general category, 1 girl student was absent from the Bamti examination center of Umakunda Rural Municipality, 1 girl student and 1 boy student in Betali of Gokulganga Rural Municipality, and 1 girl student in Sanghutar of Ramechhap Municipality. Similarly, 2 girls students were absent from Pakarbas of Khandadevi Rural Municipality, 1 girl student and 2 boys students in Tokarpur of Doramba Shailung Rural Municipality, 1 girl student at the Manthali Campus of Manthali Municipality, and 5 girls students and 2 boys students were absent from the Nagakanya Secondary Examination Center. .

According to the new procedure implemented this year, the system of checking the answer sheets on the day of the exam has been implemented. Accordingly, the checking work is being carried out with necessary security arrangements in coordination with the education department of the concerned municipality at all the examination centers in the district, informed Gajurel, the head of the Education Development and Coordination Unit, Ramechhap.

In particular, the answer sheets are being checked at the Education Development and Coordination Unit in Manthali Municipality, three centers of Manthali Campus, and Nagakanya Secondary School. The work is being done as per the target of starting the check immediately after the exam is completed every day and finishing by 8 pm, according to the Education Development and Coordination Unit, Ramechhap.

In Ramechhap, which has two municipalities and six rural municipalities, SEE is being conducted through 14 examination centers this year. There is one examination center each in Sunapati, Doramba Sailung, Khandadevi, Umakunda and Gokulganga, while two centers each are operating in Likhutamakoshi Rural Municipality and Ramechhap Municipality. In Manthali Municipality, which is the district headquarters, the examination is being conducted through 5 examination centers.
