Minister for Education, Science and Technology Mahabir Pun has said that the ministry will take appropriate steps based on the suggestions received in the report of the Tribhuvan University Land Search Committee.
After assuming the responsibility of the ministry, he organized a press conference today and said that some of the issues pointed out by the inquiry committee would be sent to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority for implementation. 'There is a situation where Tribhuvan University's land has been grabbed and used for many years and is taking undue advantage. Based on the committee's report, the ministry will take appropriate steps. A letter will be sent to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority for further investigation of the issues that cannot be resolved by the ministry,' Minister Pun said.
Stating that the report of the committee on the Tribhuvan University's land search is incomplete, he said that there is a need for further in-depth investigation. He said that preparations are being made to form another inquiry committee based on the committee's recommendation.
Similarly, informing that the ministry has received a complaint that a lot of land has been grabbed from Sudurpaschim University, he said that an inquiry committee will be formed for that too. Minister Pun informed that it has been decided to add a 'computer' subject of 100 whole marks to the secondary level so that our students do not lag behind in the recent development of technology.
