Newly appointed Education, Science and Technology Minister Mahavir Pun has been arranged to eat and stay in the ministry from Tuesday. Spokesman Shivkumar Sapkota said that arrangements have been made to eat and sit in the room next to the minister's office.
There has been talk of staying here from today. The rooms with the working room have been cleared and made into sleeping, sitting and kitchen, he said. After the Ministry of Education was set on fire in the demonstration on 24th of Bhadra, it has been temporarily moved to Kesar Mahal in Thamel. The office of the Ministry of Education has been established on the first floor of the building next to the Kesar Library.
Minister Pun took office in the working room after taking oath on Monday and asked Secretary Chudamani Paudel to arrange the village and accommodation for him within the ministry. He announced that he will work 24 hours a day in the ministry. Wherever I go, I have a habit of staying where I work. I also lived there while working at the National Innovation Center. After work, I used to leave Kathmandu from Kirtipur in just 2 months. Even if I go to Virgunj, I will stay where I work," he said. "I want a bed. I want a table scraper. I want a kitchen. I will cook and eat it myself.'' On Monday night, he reached Kirtipur to stay.
Minister Pun proposed that the security personnel should also sit together within the ministry. He says that he will take the facility of government vehicles only for the work of the ministry. "There is no need to come after me when I leave the ministry to report the above," he said to the security personnel assigned with him.
Sapkota, the spokesperson of the ministry, said that arrangements have been made for the security personnel to stay inside the ministry. "We have cleared the rooms and made a place for the minister's team to stay," he said, "It will be arranged in 1/2 day."
