Lakshman KC has been re-elected for the second term as the president of the International Education Providers Association (IPAN), an umbrella organization of teachers who are providing higher education in Nepal in relation to foreign universities. The annual general meeting and convention held in the capital unanimously elected the new working committee.

In the working committee, Sameer Thapa has been elected as outgoing president, Tej Dhakal as senior vice president, Vigyan Shrestha and Restha Jha as vice presidents. Similarly, Shailaja Adhikari has been elected as General Secretary, Mahendra Kandel as Secretary and Yogesh Upreti as Treasurer. 

The members of the new working committee are Bheshraj Pokharel, Praveena Thapa, Laxman Pokharel, Pramod Baniyan and Ashish Thakur. IPAN's working committee appointed Pankaj Jalan as the chairman of the advisory committee, Narottam Aryal, Dr. A five-member advisory committee has been formed with Mithilesh Jha, Rital Rana and Arnraj Silwal as members.

In his opinion at the Annual General Meeting, President KC expressed his commitment to strengthen the role of IPAN in promoting quality education in Nepal by saying that he will focus on making IPAN more organized and professional. He also expressed his commitment to provide world-class education at affordable fees in Nepal in collaboration with internationally renowned universities and to coordinate with the Ministry of Education and relevant agencies to contribute to establishing Nepal as a major educational destination for international students.

Currently, 57 colleges are operating under IPAN. 34,458 students are studying in those colleges.
