16 student organizations, including the ruling party, have demanded the government to issue the School Education Act without delay. The student organizations including Navy Sangh, Aneraswaviyu, Akhil Krantikari issued a joint statement on Friday and drew the attention of the government to promulgate the Student Friendly Act.

The student organization claims that the government has repeatedly promised to issue the School Education Act, but has neglected the issues of the students and the bill.

If the demand is not met, the student organization has warned that they will jointly announce a program of struggle. The student organization has put forward 5 points of demand.

There are demands that the school education law should be promulgated immediately, education up to secondary level should be free, teachers should be appointed only through open competition, the school education bill should be decided only after discussion with the student organization and the student welfare council should be elected in the university.

"Since the school education bill is a matter of direct concern and interest of the students, the joint student organization strongly demands that the government, thematic parliamentary committees and related bodies advance the bill only through all-sided dialogue, negotiation and discussion with the mandatory participation of the joint student organization," the statement said. In the

bill, it has been requested to make arrangements for the appointment of teachers to be done only through open competition. In the bill, the education and health committee of the House of Representatives has agreed on permanent teachers through 60 percent internal and 40 percent open competition.

"In accordance with the right to education provided in Article 31 of the Constitution of Nepal, 2072, every citizen should be able to receive education up to the secondary level completely free of charge, the United Students' Organization strongly demands the government to immediately implement literally," the statement said.

The United Students' Organization demands that the federal, state and local governments should unconditionally increase investment in school education for the qualitative transformation of school education.
