Three names have been recommended for the Vice-Chancellorship of Tribhuvan University. According to sources close to the Prime Minister's Office, the names of Professor Deepak Aryal, Acting Vice-Chancellor Khadg KC and Professor Vinil Aryal have been recommended.
The recommendation committee chaired by Education Minister and Vice-Chancellor Raghuji Pant has recommended names to the Prime Minister and the Chancellor. One of the three will be appointed by the Prime Minister as Vice-Chancellor.
Since March 15, the University has been without a Vice-Chancellor. The recommended Deepak Aryal is a professor of climate science and former head of the department. KC is the Department of International Relations and Vinil Aryal is Professor of Science, Technology. Aryal is also the former Dean of Science. All three of them are professors close to the ruling UML.
After Vice Chancellor Kesharjung Baral resigned on March 15, Rector KC has been given the responsibility of Acting Vice Chancellor.
