After the representatives of the protesting teachers' federation reached the Ministry of Education, talks with the Minister of Education Raghuji Pant started on Tuesday evening. Due to internal meetings and discussions, the officials of the federation reached the ministry late. An official of the Ministry of Education said that the talks started after the teachers' representatives arrived.

After the street demonstration, the central leadership of the teachers' federation was engaged in a discussion. A discussion was also held in the ministry on Monday evening. Both parties said that the discussion was positive. It is expected that the discussions held till Monday night will be decisive as they are positive oriented. On behalf of the Federation, President Laxmikishore Subedi, Co-President Nanumaya Parajuli, General Secretary Tula Bahadur Thapa and others are participating in the talks.

Minister of Education Pant, Secretary Deepak Kafle participated in the meeting and the formal leadership of the meeting was conducted by Director General of Education and Human Resource Development Center Krishna Prasad Kapri. According to the ministry, discussions with the teachers are focused on addressing the demands of the teachers and ending the protest. The discussion is focused on fulfilling partial demands from the Cabinet, creating a trusting environment for the passage of the School Education Bill and suspending the movement. Former education minister Vidya Bhattarai proposed that the decision can be made by the cabinet, and the teachers have demanded to add some other demands and pass it. It is said that the matter to be decided by the Council of Ministers will be finalized and the consensus process will be taken forward.

Officials say that if partial demands from the Cabinet are met, the nature of the movement including the academic strike can be changed.
