24 experts from 11 countries will present working papers on Buddhist philosophy, human resources in the fourth industrial revolution
International Vice-Chancellor and 18th News (East, West, North, South) conference will be held in Lumbini. The conference is going to be held on Wednesday and Thursday in collaboration with the Global University Network, organized by the Lumbini Buddhist University, with the support of the University Grants Commission, to promote global dialogue on human resource development and higher education for the fourth industrial revolution.
The Vice-Chancellor's Conference will focus on the internationalization of Buddhist philosophy in higher education, Buddhist philosophy and ethics under academic leadership, internationalization of higher education in the fourth industrial revolution, challenges and opportunities of Nepal's higher education. Suvarna Lal Bajracharya said.
In the conference to be held at the Central Office of Buddhist University, Lumbini, after the opening session on the first day, 24 working papers will be presented on the use of Buddhist philosophy in human resource management, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the labor market, regional cooperation and network building for higher education and institutional role in human resource management. Bajracharya said that scholars from 11 countries will present papers at the conference.
The vice-chancellor conference will be held on the second day. Vice chancellors of universities from Nepal, India and Japan will participate in the vice-chancellor conference. The conference will be attended by the Chairman of University Grants Commission, Vice Chancellors of Nalanda University, Siddharth University, Midwest University of Nepal, Pokhara University, Purvanchal University, Rajarshijanak University, Nepal Sanskrit University and others. Similarly, Vice Chancellor of Rapti Institute of Health Sciences, Karnali Institute of Health Sciences, Madan Bhandari Institute of Health Sciences will participate. It is said that the Vice-Chancellor of Lumbini Technical University, Gandaki University, Madhesh University and the Registrar of Nepal Sanskrit University and Kathmandu University will also participate in the
conference. Similarly, former vice chancellors of Lumbini Buddhist University and other universities will also participate in the conference, the university said.
The conclusions obtained from the discussions on the globalization of Buddhist education and the challenges and opportunities of higher education at the Vice-Chancellor's Conference will be published as the Lumbini Manifesto. Registrar of Lumbini Buddhist University Tilakram Acharya said. "The Vice-Chancellor's Conference has been scheduled to discuss three sessions at the same time," he said.
Rajendra Ghimire, coordinator of the International Relations Center, said that the conference sessions will run from 9 am to 5 pm on both days. According to Lumbini Buddhist University, representatives of the federal government, state government and local government, representatives of professional associations, heads of educational institutions, scholars and researchers will participate in the inaugural session, along with the vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission Prof. Shivraj Adhikari. Experts and scholars from Nepal, Cambodia, China, Germany, India, Japan, Laos, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam will participate in the conference.
