Minister of Education, Science and Technology Vidya Bhattarai has suggested making a law to establish Shaheed Dashrath Chand University of Health Sciences as a standard university.
Minister Bhattarai made such a suggestion while participating in the quarterly discussion on the bill at the meeting of the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee under the House of Representatives on Monday.
He said that the bill should provide clear provisions regarding the calendar, manpower management and responsibilities of universities.
He said that the problem of the recent quarrels and lockouts in the university is getting complicated. He emphasized that the bill should be moved forward with a solution to this issue.
He said, 'Let us establish a standard for this university in the universities so far and also in the universities that will be formed now. Currently, there are three problems within the university. One is the matter of the calendar, the other is the matter of manpower management within it and who will take the leadership and who will be responsible for the university. Now, the most complicated issue is how we should go about the lockout in the university, the quarrels and ritualistic violence. I would like to request here to include this subject in the bill.'
Minister Bhattarai said that there should be a clear arrangement regarding the rights of university officials.
