Prada Achyut Prasad Wagle, the newly appointed vice chancellor of the said university, took the oath of office and secrecy today before the Prime Minister and the Chancellor of Kathmandu University KP Sharma Oli.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Wagle took the oath in a program held at the office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. Chancellor Oli appointed Dr. Wagle on Monday in accordance with Section 13 (4) of the University Act, 2048 based on the recommendation of the search and recommendation committee formed for the selection of the vacant vice chancellor of the university.
Prime Minister Oli, paying attention to the delay in the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor, expressed his best wishes for building a common university for all concerned parties in the coming days.
Education, Science and Technology Minister Vidya Bhattarai, Prime Minister's Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, Education Ministry Secretary Dr. Deepak Kafle and others were present on that occasion.
The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor Prada Wagle was previously the Acting Vice-Chancellor and Registrar of the university.
