UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has said that technical education should be developed to make Nepal self-reliant. Laying the foundation stone of the auditorium at Tulsipur Metro College, which is run by Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City, on Tuesday, he said that technical education will play an important role in the prosperity of the country.
Mentioning the growing interest in technical education, he said that it is necessary to make education practical and self-employment oriented. He said that cooperation between government and private educational institutions is necessary for the development of skill-based and technical education. Basant Acharya, head of the college informed that the assembly hall has been constructed with an investment of 80 lakhs by the Lumbini state government.
Ghanshyam Pandey, the founding president of Metro College, said that the construction of a large auditorium where practical exercises can be conducted for students has been started. Tikaram Khadka, chairman of the college management committee and head of Tulsipur city, said that the necessary structures are being built in cooperation with the local and state governments.
