Coordination between all three levels of government is necessary for the development of education: Minister Bhattarai

Education, Science and Technology Minister Vidya Bhattarai has said that coordination and cooperation between all three levels of government is necessary for the development of the education sector.

In the press conference organized by Press Chautari today at the headquarters, she mentioned that the constitution clearly explained that all three levels of government should play a role in the development of the education sector.

She said that the government has made an action plan to implement compulsory free education by 2083. 'If everyone supports us, we can complete it,' Minister Bhattarai said, 'The local government should also fully follow and implement the arrangements made clear by the Compulsory Education Act.'

Minister Bhattarai said that a prosperous nation can be built only with quality education. Mentioning that education workers have an equal role in making policies related to education, she emphasized that everyone should help from their respective places.

'We have said technical education, but what should be technical education, there has been little discussion and debate to connect technical education to entrepreneurship by making it technology-friendly', Minister Bhattarai said, 'There was a problem when we only focused on how much free budget is.' She said that the School Education Act is currently under discussion in the Parliament's Committee on Education, Health and Information Technology and preparations are being made to amend many subjects.

'Education Bill has now been discussed in the committee with the amendment proposer for three days and they have gone to the provinces', Minister Bhattarai said, 'After the discussions in the provinces also, the committee will discuss it further. We have reached a state of becoming.' She claimed that she started the discussion of the Education Bill only after she took charge of the ministry.
