Stakeholders and students have complained that Nepal's education system has not changed with the development of science and technology and has not been able to follow the world-class educational system. They suggested that the educational system should be changed and an environment should be created to acquire technical and practical education suitable for the era in the country.
Regarding the 7th International Education Day, the leaders, educationists and students studying abroad have given this suggestion in the global virtual webinar conducted by the Education Department of the Nepali Congress. In a
webinar, Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, accepting the reality that Nepal's education sector has not progressed at the same pace as the development of science and technology, promised to take the initiative to create a political environment for it.
'Even now, if we are not able to adopt timely education policy and if we are not able to embrace technology, we will not be able to produce human resources that can compete with the world market. Therefore, attention should be paid to create an educational environment at the same pace with the development of technology,' said President Deuba. Nainsingh Mahar, the central member of the
party and the head of the education department, said that the government should be aware of the impact of artificial intelligence on education and how education can be organized according to such advanced technology. He said that the way of life is also necessary to be idealistic to operate AI .
'As we have behaved and acted accordingly, the AI will also copy, so if we think well and follow good rules, the AI will also act accordingly. If the use of AI is not good, there can be big threats in the world,' he said.
He said that the political parties and the government should be aware of the appropriate use of recently developed technologies including AI. In the program, Open University Dean Surendra Shrestha, Power Authority Director Surendra Lamsal, Environmentalist Dr. Dharma Upreti, ex-chairman of Language Commission Lavdev Awasthi and other experts expressed their views on this . Heads of diplomatic missions of different countries, representatives of NRN, party public relations committees in 35 countries and Nepali students in different countries participated in the
program.
