In the presence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, a cooperation agreement was signed between Lumbini Buddhist University and Beijing Language and Culture University of China.
In a program held today at the Prime Minister's Residence, Baluwatar, Lumbini Buddhist University Vice Chancellor Prada Suvarnalal Bajracharya and Beijing Language and Culture University President Twang Fong exchanged a memorandum of understanding.
According to the agreement, the universities of both countries will work for cultural exchange, language teaching, and research operations. Similarly, Nepal Institute in Beijing and China Institute in Lumbini will be established. During the official visit of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli from 17th to 20th November, an agreement was reached with China regarding voluntary Chinese language teaching.
On the occasion, Prime Minister and Chancellor of Lumbini Buddhist University Oli expressed his happiness that the academic and educational relations and cooperation between the two countries have expanded, mentioning that there has been a relationship between Nepal and China even at the people's level since centuries. The
program was attended by Geethakumari Paudyal Adhikari, Member of the National Planning Commission, Dr. Tilakram Acharya, Registrar of Lumbini University and officials of the Chinese Embassy in Nepal.
