Nepal Telecom free internet in 100 schools across the country

Nepal Telecom, a telecommunication service provider, has said that it has conducted various programs to make school education technology-friendly and to increase access to telecommunication services. In order to make teaching easier and students can use the Internet easily, Telecom has informed that 100 government and public schools across the country have provided free FTTH Internet service of 50 Mbps speed for one year.

 As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), Telecom has provided 4G internet package with Namaste Wi-Fi router to schools in places where FTTH service is not available . The company claims that 50 schools in all 7 provinces have received free internet facilities for one year. Telecom has also informed that students who are preparing for the upcoming SEE exam can study online for free.

Nepal Telecom has announced that it has distributed free prepaid SIM cards with special provisions for people with different abilities. It has been mentioned that Telecom is taking various initiatives in disaster management. "On the recommendation of Nepal Telecommunication Authority and other organizations, we have broadcast free color ringtones during various festivals, occasions and calamities," the statement said, "Blankets, tents and other relief materials were provided for the people affected by the Jajarkot earthquake last year." ; 

In addition, the company has said that it is conducting greenery protection and tree planting program in the road section from Maitighar to Tinkune in Kathmandu. In addition to providing various physical and educational materials including furniture, computers, bags, tracksuits to various government and community schools, sanitary pad vending machines have been provided to one government and community school in 20 districts.

According to Nepal Telecom, it has provided beds and chairs to Veer Hospital in addition to providing support to old age homes, children's ashrams, etc. It is mentioned in the statement issued by Telecom that dustbin has been distributed in public places including religious monasteries, temples, archaeological and tourist sites, bus parks, public parks and gardens.
