A month-long exhibition of 5,000-year-old Chinese civilization has begun in Kathmandu.
With the aim of presenting Chinese traditional culture through modern digital technology and contemporary creative design, the ‘New Cultural and Creative Workshop: Digital Guoqiao Innovation Practice Exhibition’ has begun at the China Cultural Center in Kathmandu.
The exhibition, which will run from July 12 to August 10, will showcase more than 50 cultural and creative works through modern design and digital innovation.
Addressing the opening ceremony on Thursday, Liu Chanping, Director of the China Cultural Center in Nepal, said that the exhibition will further strengthen cultural exchanges between China and Nepal and expand cooperation in cultural innovation.
He said that the cultural heritage of 5,000-year-old Chinese civilization has been presented to the new generation by combining digital technology. The exhibition features various creative works including ceramic art, Suzhou embroidery, textile art, and copper artistic materials.
On the occasion of the Dragon Boat Festival (Duanwu Festival), along with the exhibition, programs such as tasting the traditional Chinese dish Zongzi, Tai Chi performances, traditional songs and music, dances and poetry recitations have also been organized. Nepali students studying at Tribhuvan University, LRI School participated in these dances.
