An inclusive art workshop and exhibition will be held on the occasion of the 34th International Day of Persons with Disabilities in collaboration with Lalitpur Metropolitan City and Aakar Foundation.

The workshop was organized on Mangsir 11 with the aim of promoting creativity, confidence and economic empowerment of people with disabilities. The organizer has stated that 40 artists are participating in the workshop.

The organizing organization has informed that the artworks made in the workshop on Mangsir 11 will be exhibited on Mangsir 17. The foundation says that the main objective of the workshop is to expand an inclusive environment through artistic expression, produce original and creative artworks and enhance the skills and confidence of artists.

The organizer believes that the program will make a significant contribution to celebrating Disability Day in a productive manner.

It has also been stated that all ward offices under Lalitpur Metropolitan City will make arrangements to purchase the artworks displayed in the exhibition for office purposes. The remaining artworks will be purchased by the Metropolitan City itself. It is stated that 50 percent of the total income from the sale will be given to the artist and 50 percent to the Foundation.

According to the organizers, the program is expected to have positive outcomes such as identifying artists with disabilities, promoting creative potential, generating direct income, and strengthening collaboration between organizations.

‘This collaboration will be important in institutionalizing inclusive artistic expression and providing a strong opportunity for people with disabilities to showcase their talents,’ the Aakar Foundation said.
