A special screening of the documentary 'Devi' was held in Birganj on Thursday. This 80-minute long documentary was screened among a special group of viewers at QFX cinema in Birganj.

The events and scenes of the struggle and achievements of Maoist guerilla, leader and former parliamentarian Devi Khadka to get justice for the rape and violence against women by the state and the rebel side during the conflict period are shown in the documentary.  After the screening of the

documentary, a special audience response was taken. Facilitated by Suryanarayan Vick, President of Film Journalists Association Parsa, women's rights activist Guddi Joshi, Professor Dr. Sushma Tiwari, Ahema Thapa, Head of OCMC at Narayani Hospital, Saroj Chaurasia, President of Birganj JSIS and rights activist Saroj Chaurasia pointed out that there are many cases of Devi Khadka and others in Madhesh environment and the victims are still unable to speak openly and raise their voice for justice. 

Madhesh Pradesh Assembly member Rahwar Ansari praised Devi Khadka for showing the courage to expose the voice of many oppressed women, not just herself. He said that since violence against women has no caste, community or party, it should be understood only as violence against women.
