Radio Kantipur honored senior singer and musician Lochan Bhattarai during a program on Saturday through a program called 'Salam Jeeundo Itihasalai'.

In Nepali music field  Recently, Bhattarai, who has been using chants and classical singing, has recited Bhanubhakta's Ramayana and Srimad Bhagavad Komal Gita in chants and made them available on social media and YouTube.  At the

ceremony, Sarita Shahi, Angela Shrestha, Geeta Pandey and Shobha Pandey performed songs like Bhattarai's Tuk Tuk Nabhai Jau Tu, Hriday Choi Garene Pooja, Oo Ta Gya Maya Marre, Maya Gurne Ke Chokho Maya and others. Bhattarai praised the new generation singers for singing their songs better. Bhattarai also suggested to continue the series of Srastha Samman.

In the year 2044, Bhattarai also told the story of when Tara Thapa came second and Sapnasree came third when she sang the song "Tok Tok Bol" with music and words of Bhupendra Rayamazhi in Radio Nepal in 2044. Lochan, who has sung more than 1100 songs, has 15 solo albums. In which 10 of them, she has given solo music.

In her childhood, she said that she used to do Riyaz while singing songs in her birthplace Dharan and the forests around Vijayapur. Bhattarai, who has a master's degree in music from Tribhuvan University, has also done a master's degree in music from the Institute of Divinity in India. 

Even though she lost her father in her childhood, she was able to continue singing after her marriage with her husband's motivation. She thanked the radio for honoring her on Women's Day. 

Lochan's voice has spread through modern Nepali, various languages, from background singing in movies to poetry. Narayan Gopal invited Mahir Bhattarai to collaborate with him after seeing his talent for pure pronunciation of any language. In Narayan Gepal Swarnim Sandhya, Lochan accompanied her in various songs. However, his dream of recording a song with Narayan Dai was not fulfilled.
