A multifaceted art exhibition of women artists from South Asia was inaugurated on Saturday evening at Taragaon Next in Buddh, Kathmandu.

Four artists from India, one each from Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and three artists from Nepal have a total of ten artists with a feminist definition in the exhibition. The exhibition was opened at 4:30 pm with the performance art of Nepali artist Ashmina Ranjit. Artists have expressed their powerful ideas through creative photography, installation art, documentary and video art, craft, sculpture, etc. Along with

Ranjith, the art of Uma Bista and Vidhata KC from Nepal can also be seen in the exhibition. The artist's craft titled 'Chori Mangho Hoe' has raised questions about the prevailing stereotypes in the society . Similarly, the photography of Anita Dubey, Mithu Sen, Pushpamala N and Sheba Chhachi from India also satirized the patriarchal and misogynistic social order and culture. Pakistan's Nazia Khan's sketches defining the female body from a different angle and Sri Lanka's Anoli Perera's rebellious photography can also be seen in the Taragaon gallery. Similarly, the installation art of Bangladesh's Tayeba Begum Lipi, which makes the audience think, is also on display at Taragaon NEXT from today.

dr. Conceived by Arshia Lokhandwala, the exhibition is titled 'Feminist Future: Art, Activism and South Asian Womanhood'. The exhibition is jointly organized by Taragaon Cultural Center and Saraf Foundation.

On the opening day, there was a good attendance of artists, art lovers and art critics from the country and abroad to see the multi-faceted art of the ten best women artists of South Asia .
