One person has died in Bajhang after being beaten up after a minor dispute. Gagan Dhami died during treatment at Bhagwati Basic School in Durgathali Rural Municipality-3, Rakail.
The District Police Office, Bajhang, has informed that 28-year-old Singhraj Dhami of the same place involved in the incident has been taken into custody and an investigation is underway. According to the police, Singhraj, who was arrested, said that on Friday afternoon, during a minor dispute between Gagan and his son Santosh, he and Bhagwati Basic School teacher Madan Dhami went to separate him and Gagan, who was drunk, came to attack him instead, and Gagan was injured when he pushed him to save himself.
During the dispute, teacher Madan also suffered a head injury and returned home after receiving general treatment, according to the police. Both the injured were brought to the District Hospital, Bajhang for treatment. The seriously injured Gagan was referred to the Seti Provincial Hospital in Dhangadhi for further treatment. Police Inspector Upendra Timilsina of the District Police Office informed that he died on Saturday afternoon while undergoing treatment.
‘The truth of the incident has not yet been revealed. We are still investigating,’ said Police Inspector Timilsina, ‘More people are being questioned.
