Jungle safaris have been closed in Shuklaphanta National Park. The park office has stated that safaris have been closed from Friday until further notice.
‘Tourism activities in the park are closed during the rainy season, safaris are always closed during this season,’ said Chandra Shekhar Chaudhary, senior conservation officer of Shuklaphanta National Park, ‘Now safaris will open only after the rainy season is over.’ According to him, tourism activities in protected areas are closed during the rainy season.
During the rainy season, the roads for safaris are also damaged due to mud. Due to this, it is difficult to do safaris. About 3,800 tourists have visited Shuklaphanta National Park this fiscal year. Which is about the same as last year. Due to lack of publicity and lack of physical infrastructure, the number of tourists has not been able to increase here.
