All local levels except Tikapur in Kailali have brought budgets

Except for Tikapur Municipality of Kailali, all other local levels have brought policies and programs and budgets for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84.

In Kailali, which has 13 local levels, 12 local levels have presented budgets in the municipal/village assembly. The Local Government Operation Act stipulates that the budget for the upcoming fiscal year must be brought by Asad 10. There is a dispute over the acting mayor in Tikapur Municipality when the mayor/deputy mayor is vacant. That is why Tikapur Municipality has not been able to bring the budget.

Apart from that, Ghodaghodi Municipality, Godavari Municipality and Bardagoria Rural Municipality presented the budget in the assembly on Wednesday, while Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan Municipality, Lamkichuha Municipality, Mohanyal Rural Municipality, Bhajani Municipality, Janaki Rural Municipality, Kailari Rural Municipality, Joshipur Rural Municipality, Chure Rural Municipality and Gauriganga Municipality have already brought the budgets.

Godavari Municipality Deputy Mayor Sharada Devi Rokaya presented a budget of Rs 1.30 billion 5.82 billion in the municipal assembly held on Wednesday. Rokaya mentioned that 67.4 percent of the total allocation has been allocated towards current expenditure and 32.6 percent towards capital expenditure. She said that education, health, agriculture, drinking water, roads and other basic infrastructure development programs have been given priority in the budget.

Similarly, Ghodaghodi Municipality, while presenting a budget of Rs 1.44 billion 4.78 billion 8.868 billion, said that agriculture, education, health, tourism, employment promotion and enterprise development have been given priority. Mithun Gautam, Chairman of Ward No. 1 of Bardagoriya Rural Municipality, presented a budget of Rs 1.92 billion 2.15 billion in the village assembly. Since Vice Chairman Ganeshraj Giri was absent, Ward Chairman Gautam presented the budget. He said that local development, infrastructure construction, education, health and agriculture sectors have been prioritized.

Similarly, Chure Rural Municipality Vice-Chairperson Dhanadevi Thapa presented a budget of 598.259 million. Under which 399.62 million has been allocated for current expenditure and 207.297 million for capital expenditure.
