Police in Baitadi have arrested two people on charges of publishing obscene photos and one person on a banking offense case. According to the police, a woman and a man have been arrested on charges of publishing obscene photos and videos of a woman from Pancheshwor rural municipality.
The arrested persons are Sunil Chand, 22, of Pancheshwor-5, Giregada, and a woman, and an investigation is underway, said Police Inspector Suraj Singh, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Baitadi.
A woman from Pancheshwor filed a complaint with the Area Police Melauli alleging that the two had published obscene photos and videos of her on social media and had defamed each other, and the woman and the young man were taken into custody and are being investigated, he said.
A team deployed from the Area Police Office, Melauli under the command of Deputy Inspector of Police Dipendra Chand has taken them into custody and is investigating, Spokesperson Singh informed.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested 37-year-old Sumati Kumar Kunwar, a resident of Purchaudi Municipality-5, Kuwakot, for banking offences. According to the Patan High Court's verdict on Falgun 26, 2079, Kunwar had absconded after being sentenced to three days in prison and a fine of Rs 950,000 in a banking offence case.
