Four local levels of Bajura have issued a joint statement against the dispute and attack in Lampata, Bajura, expressing their objection to the incident.
Bajura's Himali, Swamikartik Khapar, Jagannath Rural Municipality and Budhinanda Municipality have demanded action against those involved in the incident through a joint statement on Wednesday.
The statement says, "We draw the attention of the District Administration Office Bajura, the District Coordination Committee Office Bajura, the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers Sudurpaschim Province, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Government of Nepal, and the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers to resolve the dispute and prevent further accidents."
Lampata, Chhyachaur and Ranisain, which are located in ward no. 3 of Himali Rural Municipality of Bajura, have been used by the residents of the former Bichhya VDC in the past, and the Nepal Map Sheet No. 2981003 issued by the Survey Department of the Government of Nepal with field verification in 2001 clearly distinguishes Sakya Lagna, Danda Lepchya and Thosa as Humla and Bajura below,' the statement said. 'Despite the clear legal basis that Jekhungkharka, Mayongkharka, Ranikarka, Dhauli Kharka, Chhyachaur and Lampata below Sakya Lagna belong to Bajura, the attack on the citizens of Bajura by the residents of Kharpunath area of Humla, claiming that they are theirs, is condemnable.'
The claims of the people of Ranisain area and border areas are baseless and without facts, and the statement said that this dispute should be resolved on the basis of facts and evidence to prevent further accidents.

When local residents of Kharpunath Rural Municipality-2, Thali in Humla and other areas suddenly attacked Lampata on Tuesday, ward member Pema Gara Gurung of Himali Rural Municipality-3, his wife Laxmi Gurung, Min Kunwar, police assistant constable Mahesh Dhami and Himali Rural Municipality Chief Administrative Officer Kul Bahadur Thapa were injured, said Bajura Chief District Officer Dorendra Niraula. Dozens of youths from Kharpunath came to ward member Pema's house and beat him up and vandalized the house, said Pradya Niraula.
During that campaign, as part of the 'We Introduce Our Far West' campaign, the residents of Kharpunath also obstructed a team including Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City Chief Gopal Hamal, who was on his way to Ranisain, the eastern base camp of Saipal Himal. After the obstruction, the team including Hamal returned without reaching Ranisain. Lampata is the last village in Bajura, and it takes about five hours to reach Ranisain on foot.
When Bajura tried to establish a police post, Humla called it a border dispute, but internally, Humla businessmen and some politicians from the Ranisain Bichhya area planned to prevent the establishment of the post and the movement of tourists, according to Bajura's provincial MP Naresh Kumar Shahi.
