The District Police Office, Baitadi, has made public the progress report of the works carried out in the month of Baisakh. In the progress report, 152 vehicles have been taken into action for violating traffic rules in the month of Baisakh alone. A revenue of Rs. 142,000 has been collected from the vehicles taken into action.

The details of the works carried out by the District Police Office in a month have been made public with the aim of informing the entire public and stakeholders, said Police Inspector Suraj Singh, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Baitadi.

In the month of Baisakh alone, eight vehicle accidents occurred in the district, in which two people died and 16 were injured. The police have mentioned in the progress report that three accidents occurred due to driver negligence and vehicle and road conditions. Similarly, three absconding defendants who were sentenced by the court at different times have been arrested and have been sentenced to 1 year and 8 months in prison and a fine of Rs 1,000. In the month of Baisakh alone, the police have arrested five absconding defendants in cases decided by the District Administration Office and have also recovered Rs 141,199 in compensation and a fine of Rs 34,500.
