 A woman was found dead on the banks of the Mahakali River in Jhulaghat, Baitadi.

The body of Deepa Mahar, aged 38, of Dasharathchand Municipality-8, Baitadi, was found at 8 am on Thursday, informed the spokesperson of the District Police Office, Baitadi, Police Inspector Suraj Singh. 

The deceased Mahar's husband was in Delhi, India for employment and Mahar was also living with her husband when she returned to her home on the 22nd of this month.

The deceased Mahar, who was walking from her home on Wednesday to find her husband in India, was found dead on the banks of the Mahakali River at 8 am on Thursday, according to the police. 

The body of the deceased has been kept at the District Hospital, Baitadi for postmortem and the postmortem will be done only after her husband returns, according to the District Police Office.  Police Inspector Singh informed that further investigation into the incident is underway.
