Among the 9 districts of the Far West province, Kanchanpur recorded the highest voter turnout at 58.6 percent. The lowest voter turnout was in Doti district at 38 percent, according to the Provincial Election Office.

‘This is preliminary information received from different districts,’ said Provincial Election Officer Premraj Bhatta. ‘There may be minor fluctuations in the number of votes cast, this is only preliminary information received immediately after the voting. It seems that it will take some time to receive detailed details.’

According to Provincial Election Officer Bhatta, preliminary information received from different districts shows that 53 percent voter turnout was recorded in Kailali, 58.6 percent in Kanchanpur, 53 percent in Kailali, 39 percent in Achham, 38 percent in Doti, and 41.1 percent in Bajhang. Similarly, 46.8 percent voter turnout was recorded in Baitadi, 53.8 percent in Darchula, and 49.2 percent in Dadeldhura, Bhatta said.

The ballot boxes are arriving at the counting center after voting in all districts of the province, informed the Provincial Election Officer Bhatta. ‘There is a possibility that the ballot boxes will reach the counting center by 10/11 pm today, Thursday,’ Bhatta said, ‘It seems that it will be too late to start the counting at night, discussions are being held to start the counting by holding an all-party meeting on Friday morning.’
