An election police officer from Nepal Police has died in Baitadi. The deceased is 38-year-old Mahadev Wad, a resident of Babet, Dasharathchand Municipality-4, the district, said Sub-Inspector Suraj Singh, Information Officer of the District Police Office, Baitadi. "The police went after receiving a report that he was unconscious at home when he went home for lunch this afternoon," he said. "The doctor declared him dead when he was taken to the District Hospital, Baitadi in an unconscious state."

The body has been kept at the District Hospital, Baitadi, and a post-mortem will be conducted tomorrow, he said. The election police officer, who lives near the district headquarters, used to go home for lunch after finishing his duty. A few days ago, another election police officer from Dasharathchand Municipality-4 also fell from a cliff and died while going home.
