The police are preparing to manage security in the Bajura, Achham, Darchula and Bajhang districts of the Sudurpaschim Province as they are considered sensitive in terms of election security.
Spokesperson and Senior Superintendent of Police of the Provincial Police Office, Dhangadhi, Padam Bahadur Bista, informed that after studying and analyzing the incidents that occurred during the elections held in the past years, these four districts are being put on the list of sensitive districts and security management is being arranged accordingly.
He said, 'We have studied the undesirable incidents that occurred during the past elections and analyzed that these four districts are sensitive districts and are going to make security management accordingly. We are also making necessary security preparations by keeping an eye on the elements that can disrupt the elections.'
A helicopter is being arranged to transport ballot boxes from polling stations in the Himalayan region and geographically remote areas to the district headquarters. Preparations are also being made to think about alternatives for the voters of the concerned areas to vote, considering the risk of snowfall in the Himalayan region on election day.
Residents of Tinkar and Chhangru in the northern part of Darchula leave their villages during the winter and live in a place called Tinkarkheda near the district headquarters, so arrangements are being made for them to vote at the district headquarters.
Some families from three municipalities in the Himalayan region of Bajura migrate to different districts during the winter with their livestock, so it is not yet clear whether they will return to their villages by election day. Police spokesperson Bista said, 'It seems that those who have been living in other districts for a few months during the winter usually return to their villages only in Chaitra. In such a situation, discussions are underway on how to make arrangements for them to vote if they do not return to their villages by election day.'
To streamline and strengthen the security management of the election, arrangements are being made with vehicles at police offices that do not have vehicles. In addition to other security arrangements for election security, preparations are underway to mobilize a separate police team under the leadership of a Senior Superintendent of Police to oversee Bajura, Achham and Doti.

With the added voters, Kailali has the highest number of voters at 551,052, Kanchanpur at 314,385 and Achham at 165,337. The House of Representatives has five constituencies in Kailali, three in Kanchanpur and two in Achham.
There are 93,403 voters in Dadeldhura, 156,372 in Baitadi, 92,948 in Darchula, 128,399 in Doti, 126,903 in Bajhang and 87,861 in Bajur, informed Premraj Bhatta, Chief of the Provincial Election Office, Kailali.
In the House of Representatives elections held three years ago, the Nepali Congress won eight constituencies, the then Civil Liberation Party three, the then CPN-UML two, and the then CPN (Unified Socialist) three. In the new political environment after the Genji Movement, the election of members of the House of Representatives is scheduled to be held on Falgun 21, 2082 BS.
